YetepR&B singer, The Weeknd, is an unstoppable force in the music industry. He continues to release hit after hit. His smooth yet powerful vocals are undeniably unique, making him a favorite amongst producers for remixes, including the RL Grime remix of “The Hills” and Martin Garrix‘ remix of “I Can’t Feel My Face”. Most recently he’s teamed up with the French duo Daft Punk, to create the title track for his upcoming album. Daft Punk provides the mysterious back beat for The Weeknd’s mellow flow. It doesn’t sound like a Daft Punk song or a typical song by The Weeknd, it’s something new altogether. He debuted “Starboy” and made the LP announcement last week.
The highly anticipated video, which has already received an MTV EMA, was released earlier today:
The Weeknd – Starboy ft. Daft Punk
The video is intense to say the least, and takes things in a new direction for the star. He’s even ditched his dreads for a more cleaned up look. He talks about his success and what it’s taken for him to get where he is. The Weeknd seems to be sending a message with this video — the only him is gone, he’s a mother f*cking staryboy!
The entire LP is to be released November 25th. We can’t wait to see what — and who — will appear on the album!
