YetepOn February 10th Ekali connected with fans via a Reddit AMA(Ask Me Anything) in an Electric Forest subreddit. He started his AMA with a ‘proof’ picture and this excited message, “Hey guys!! Super excited to be going to my first Electric Forest this year, & very privileged to be playing both weekends. Just got home to Vancouver, and will be here writing music for a week before heading out on tour with my friend Troyboi. Ask me literally anything!” We learned a lot from the online question and answers session. It was a look into the personal and professional side of Ekali.

We learned a few fun facts about Ekali, like his favorite Will Smith movie is Men in Black and his favorite color is royal blue. His go-to food is tacos (us too) and he loves salted caramel ice cream. His dream b2b would be with Alison Wonderland and Troyboi, and he obviously has a sense of humor based on this reply below regarding his creativity:

Ekali also had a lot of thoughtful insight for fans including production advice, what he’s working on right, and where his musical career is heading. Many artists keep their answers short and simple but Ekali goes above and beyond to provide well thought-out responses.

As far as his upcoming music and direction, Ekali lets fans know they ‘won’t be waiting long’. He’s currently working on some originals, remixes, and a new mix series. Ekali is also working on perfecting the atmosphere of his shows through visuals, lighting, and stage schemes.

There’s not just new music to look forward too; before Electric Forest, Ekali invades Phoenix Lights on April 8th! Get tickets here.
