YetepAussie duo, SLUMBERJACK, has been releasing incredible tunes for years now. With their Fracture EP dropping this past Spring on the popular Mad Decent record label and surpassing 7 million plays on Spotify alone, it seems as though there’s nothing these two can’t do. If you haven’t been keeping up with them, here’s a few tracks that will knock your socks off and keep you woke on the ways of SLUMBERJACK.
“Touched” (SLUMBERJACK Remix)
We all know that What So Not pretty much never disappoints. This remix of WSN’s “Touched” is a grimier take on the tune and a perfect festival banger. It’s been played in sets countless times since it’s release 3 years ago.
“Open Fire” (feat. Daniel Johns)
“Open Fire” was released about a year ago and it’s clear to see the duo’s progression from 2014 to 2016. This track is slower and has a more future-bass feel with lots of synths and a chorus belted by the angelic voice of Daniel Johns.
“Fellow Feeling” (SLUMBERJACK Remix)
Does this one even need an introduction? Porter Robinson’s “Fellow Feeling” has brought tears to almost everyone who has heard it. In fact, if you haven’t cried to the original of this song, I may just question your human capacities. Thankfully, SLUMBERJACK is here to save us from our tears and takes us into a new ‘World’ that is still beautiful, but a bit dirtier, so that we can lose our minds without getting too emotional.
“RA”
This is my personal favorite SLUMBERJACK track. I remember first hearing this and immediately hitting the “repost” button. The song begins ominously and finally drops with one of the grimiest breaks I’ve ever heard. If you’re having a bad day and need empowerment, listen to this song.
Too Future: Guest Mix 084
Too Future has been putting out some of my favorite mixes for years now. This mix has a range of music from future bass to grime, to heavier tracks, and features tracks from Oshi, Rezz, and Skrillex. If you want to get a feel for SLUMBERJACK’s originals, this is a great place to start.
