Nocturnal Wonderland’s Ability to Revolutionzie the Darkness of the Night

Nocturnal – done, occurring, or active at night

Nocturnal Wonderland is one of Insomniac’s longest running events. This year, they celebrated 22 years of existence with a re-brand and downsize of the what had turned into a massive party.

During the day, attendees partied by their campsites as they waited for gates to open. At 5pm, the doors opened to a world full of surprises. As night fell onto the mountainous landscape, the vibe took an interesting turn. Black lights, glow in the dark paint, live artists, and state of the art stage productions flooded Glen Helen Regional Park.

To me, the most intriguing aspect of Nocturnal was the stage production. Each stage was curated with a specific vision in mind. Up on the hill overlooking the entire event rested Billy Kenny’s production, Sunken Garden, which hosted artists Bijou, Will Clarke, Golf Clap, and more.

When the sun went down, the night flew by in what seemed as a matter of minutes. Being engulfed in such a show made time an unimaginable concept.

On top of all this, each artist seemed to bring everything they had. For many artists, including Quix and Dr. Fresch, this was the largest crowd they have played to up to date. Without a doubt, Nocturnal Wonderland is a place of discovery. Even though the grounds are filled with darkness Nocturnal is a place to find the latest music, fashion, and some new, friendly faces.
