REZZ Takes ‘Mass Manipulation’ One Step Further with Accompanying Comic Book

In August, Isabella Rezazadeh, better known as REZZ, released her sci-fi inspired debut album, Mass Manipulation. The response to this 8-track masterpiece has been huge to say the least, as it’s received millions of views in just a couple of months. REZZ isn’t stopping there though, the  recently announced she’s creating a 60-page comic book inspired by the album that tells the story of how extraterrestrial REZZ crash lands here on Earth.

“After accidentally crash landing on Earth, a young alien from Neptune named REZZ befriends two earthlings as they discover her incredible ability: hypnosis through music. Step into the psychedelic world of REZZ as she takes you on her mind-bending journey to manipulate the masses. With her unique sounds, she begins her mission to bring peace and love to Planet Earth.”

She announced the upcoming comic on a Facebook livestream and carried the theme into her latest music video–a trippy, colorful hallucination for the track “Premonition.”  Rezz included in the comments of the live stream the first page of the comic book, showing off the art style as well as some possible characters in the story.

The story was co-written by REZZ and Luis Colindres, a Chicago-based graphic designer known for his psychedelic patterns and kaleidoscopic color palette. Colindres also did the Mass Manipulationalbum art, so this is a perfect pairing.

The comic book is available for pre-order now, but only 2,000 copies are heading for print, so act fast! You can catch an out-of-this-world performance from REZZ at our upcoming festival, Goldrush. Get more info and grab tickets here.
