December 20, 2024
We’ve got a non-stop weekend in store for you guys, get ready! Who said weekends couldn’t start mid week? Kicking it off a few days early is Vinsane at Cabin Tempe on Wednesday. Thursday we’ve got The Chainsmokers at Rawhide Event Center followed by Dr. Fresch at Shady Park on Friday and again in Tucson at 191 Toole the next day. Saturday you can catch 4B + Nitti Gritti at downstairs monarch, which Riva Starr and Mat.Joe keep it groovin’ upstairs. Sunday Funday is going down with a Justin Martin day party. Where will you be?
You may know him as the bachelor, but it’s time to get to know him as a DJ. At 17, Vinsane, with his raw talent for song selection and mixing skills was spinning at venues that he was not even legally allowed to be in and found his niche in house music with the unique ability to infuse hip-hop and other genres into his sets. He delivers time and again with his customized, on-the-fly sets that his ears and experience tailor to meet the needs of those in attendance. When the crowd is having a good time, so is he, and with that he keeps the party vibe upbeat and unique with the goal of spinning different records every time he gets in the booth.

12/1 & 12/2 – Dr. Fresch @ Shady – Tempe & 191 Toole – Tucson
We’re starting December on a Fresch note. California raised producer, Tony Fresch, has been actively producing under the name Dr. Fresch since 2009. He is best known for his ability to combine soothing electronic elements with earlier R&B hits, like his early remix of “No Scrubs” that gained him some recognition. Dr. Fresch has coined his music as “future ghetto,” adding to a long list of sub-genres, but this one has quickly taken off leaving a lasting impression on fans and fellow musicians alike. It’s always a party when the Dr. is in town, so make sure you catch one of his two shows (or maybe both) this weekend.

12/2 – 4B + Nitti Gritti @ Monarch Theatre
At 25 years old, DJ and producer Bobby McKeon know as “4B” has already spent 11 years relentlessly pursuing his sound and vision. During this period, he’s garnered significant support from industry heavyweights such as Skrillex, Diplo, Tiesto, & DJ Snake. The support bleeds deep for the thriving producer; it is a special moment when world icon DJ Snake looks over to his peer Diplo and states that 4B is “the next big thing with the hottest s**t in the streets”. His dedication to his craft has taken him from humble beginnings to a 2017 filled with hallmark appearances at major festivals including Hard Summer, Coachella, ULTRA Miami, a residency at Drais Las Vegas all trumped by his set at EDC Las Vegas
A name that’s pushed the boundaries of bass music, supported by A-list artists by the likes of Jauz, Slander, and NGHTMRE, has sprung among the dance music community, and it’s Nitti Gritti. Bringing forth his raw musical talent as well as his remarkable skills in music production, Nitti Gritti highlights his creative talent through his video releases, his most recent being his insane drum cover of some of his most well-known tracks.

12/2 – Riva Starr + Mat.Joe @ Monarch Scarlet
Never one to be pigeon-holed into a genre, the London-based producer and DJ Riva Starr consistently remains one of the most exciting talents in dance music. Year after year he throws everything from Tech House to Indie Dance and Electronica our way and just when you think you know Riva Starr, he’ll probably confuse you with yet another side to his musical personality. Don’t call him fickle, though. Try bored. Try excitable. Try unpredictable… And then some!
Best friend duo Mat.Joe has been making music for a decade now. Their unique musical style fuses rhythmic soul, hip-hop, and house elements. Back in 2006, Rap, Breakdance, and Skateboarding were the passions that made them best buddies and this deep connection is reflected in their music, again and again. Originally from Hannover, Mat.Joe has found their own style: crispy Housebeats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.

12/3 – Justin Martin at TreeHouse Sundays
There’s no better way to spend your Sunday than dancing in the breeze to the sweet sounds of Justin Martin. Everything this influential player does is pretty amazing. He’s a co-founder of one of the most fun labels in music, Dirtybird Records, known for their awesome BBQ style parties. Hailing from one of the grooviest cities in America, San Francisco, Justin Martin sure knows how to boogie. A few of his favorite things include booty, beats, beer, and pizza–we can definitely relate to that!
