YetepBoth Alex Metric and Aeroplane have been busy behind the boards perfecting the craft at the dynamic duo Metroplane. They recently dropped a new single called “Word of Mouth” featuring Bree Runway, mixing a hypnotic bassline with pop synths.
Metroplane feat. Bree Runway – Word of Mouth
As a single, “Word of Mouth” brings together uncommon melodies that strike the listener as jarring at first. The pulsing synths are laced with the diverse, demanding vocals that sometimes carry a unique melody all on its own, separate from the production. It is clear that Metroplane are expanding their horizons by incorporating the offbeat and giving sophistication to pop with their careful attention to obscure styles. Bree Runway handles the vocals with ease and emulates 90s vocal house artists who took a more soulful approach with house beats. With a vocal line written by Becky Hill (responsible for Oliver Helden‘s “Gecko [Overdrive]),” “Word of Mouth” becomes an unstoppable tour de force in the form of a catchy pop hook.
Released on Danny Howard‘s Nothing Else Matters label, the track also highlights the quick growth of this recently formed duo. “Word of Mouth” will no doubt work as a great addition to future live sets under the Metroplane name and will keep us satiated until the next single.
