YetepSaturdays are for throwbacks, and today we are throwing it back just a few years to 2013 with Adventure Club‘s “Gold” (feat. Yuna), one of four off their Calling All Heroes EP.
The electronic duo, made up of Christian Srigley and Leighton James, hail from Montreal, Quebec, and have been performing music together since their high school days. They started as a hardcore pop-punk band, which is evident in many of their songs, like their early “Do I See Color.” As they shifted into EDM, the duo began remixing popular pop-punk songs, like Brand New’s “Daisy,” showing how the two genres can blend together somewhat seamlessly. Adventure Club’s evolution over the years has demonstrated versatility and uniqueness. “Gold” was one of the first songs to put Adventure Club on the map and it’s today’s Spin it Back Saturday.
Adventure Club – “Gold” (feat. Yuna)
“Gold” will forever be a favorite among many Adventure Club fans, with it’s ambient, chillstep vibes and heavy Flux Pavilion-esque drops. While the duo has created plenty of quality music since, this will always be a source of nostalgia for us long-time fans.
If you want to see Adventure Club in action, you’ll have two opportunities this Spring. The duo will be at Wet Electric on April 28 and at the Rialto Theatre later that night alongside Focus Fire.
