YetepAfter releasing pivotal music via powerhouse labels like Fool’s Gold, Mad Decent, and Dim Mak Records, having music chart on Billboard, and collaborating with household names like Skrillex and What So Not, RL Grime is on top of the game right now as he continues to release influential music. He has even worked with author R.L. Stine, the inspiration of his alias, on his annual Halloween mix accompanied with artwork by the official Goosebumps illustrator. His records have become a centerpiece in the electronic music scene, making his name synonymous with trap and bass music genres. Now the LA-based producer has more music for us: a euphoric future bass-inspired track with the vocalist Daya who is best-known for her collaboration with The Chainsmokers on “Don’t Let Me Down.”
Previously known as Clockwork, his electro/progressive house alias, Steinway has taken full control of his more trap-inspired sound over the past few years. Titled “I Wanna Know,” his newest track blends everything great about radio-friendly music and the festival hype of future bass/trap into a single masterpiece of heartfelt lyricism and blissful melodic phrases. A departure from his quintessential trap style found in tracks like Era, Core, and Waiting, “I Wanna Know” begins with soft chords, plucks, and a beautifully-articulated vocal performance from Daya that instantly set the stage for the incoming bliss. The texture of the record gradually shifts into a smooth build up that leads into lush drops that will evoke pure happiness from anyone lucky enough to hear the track. You can stream/download “I Wanna Know” here.
