YetepI love a dark twist on an otherwise light music genre. Don’t get me wrong, everyone needs a feel-good track or something high-energy to dance to from time to time, but the ‘evil’ tracks really speak to me. It shows that an artist has a shadowy mind and multiple lanes for inspiration. This kind of music pushes the limits and often blows people away with its unexpected tone. Will Sparks has recently revealed he is more than capable of creating this type of sound with his new single titled “Senseless.”
The track starts off with a deep ominous buildup and abrasive, but powerful, synth sounds followed by a murky voice that mutters “F*ck you I don’t feel this.” This all sets the tone for a sinister track. When the drop hits you realize the exact intention is to disturb and provoke the deeper part of your mind. It’s a fast electro house beat that continues the evil-sounding synths from the song’s intro, but with a little more energy. The ending of this song takes the pressure off with piano and a melody that is closer to big room house.
This is an exciting change of style for Will Sparks, who normally produces bouncier beats. I can’t wait to see what he does the rest of 2018.
