YetepThe grand mau5ter of EDM who needs no introduction has released a unique collaborative EP. Deadmau5 just dropped Mau5ville: Level 1, which is only the first of several levels to come. Each level will bring new and unreleased music from deadmau5 and others that we never knew we needed until now–game on! This first level is not exclusive to deadmau5: it also features new music from Getter and GTA, along with several unique remixes of “Monophobia,” deadmau5’s new collaboration with Rob Swire from Pendulum. “Monophobia” comes as a nice anniversary present, releasing nearly ten years after deadmau5 originally collaborated with Rob Swire on “Ghosts N Stuff.”
Deadmau5 apparently named mau5ville: Level 1 after his official Minecraft server, which also seems to be the inspiration for “Nyquist,” a popular track on the EP. It has a calming, dreamy vibe that feels like floating sleepily through the Minecraft world. Even the tracks from Getter and GTA, producers who generally throw down more filth, have a softer, gentler sound on this EP. Level 1 is a delicate introduction to the mau5ville series, and it will be interesting to see what the future levels hold.
Deadmau5 will be bringing his A-game to Goldrush this year alongside Steve Aoki, Deorro, Illenium and more! Get your tickets here.
