YetepSydney, Australia sweethearts Go Freek have stepped up the production on their latest vocal-driven house tune, “Love is the Weapon.” The single is both a declaration for love and a declaration of their sound’s evolution– moving away from the club/gutter tech style they’re known for, and more into the mainstream “pop” sounding house with a dance music vibe. This latest catchy bop is a blend of their signature offensive bass lines and tech-house percussion with a truly addictive topline. Go Freek spoke on the production of “Love is the Weapon,” saying,
When you work on something long enough you become emotionally attached and your art becomes a part of you. In the case of ‘Love Is The Weapon’, it was in the works for over 8 months. It grew from an idea that was almost thrown away and has now become our most unique and exciting record to date. I remember having a moment of hysterical laughter and tears when we wrapped up the final mixdown. My mum complained that after first listen she had an earworm for days to follow. We are so proud of this record.
Go Freek has had success with US festivals like EDC and Nocturnal Wonderland and have gained support from artists like Claude VonStroke, Camelphat, A-Trak, Don Diablo, Anna Lunoe, Claptone, FISHER and more. They’ll start their 12-date national tour soon, and there’s no doubt one day they’ll get their freak on in Arizona. For now, indulge in the earworm that “Love is the Weapon” has inevitably produced.
