YetepWithin the techno house world lies an underground artist who has spent the last 13 years perfecting his funky, psychedelic sound. I’m speaking of course about SHADED, the Newport Beach-born DJ and producer who is now playing at some of the most celebrated electronic clubs and festivals in the world. SHADED got his start at an early age, thanks to his musician and classic rock producer of a father. Growing up on the beach, he developed a passion for surfing, which shines through in his minimal “surf” techno sound today.
If you haven’t yet heard SHADED’s two-track EP, Rippple, I recommend you press play and take a listen below.
The EP opens with the title track, “Rippple,” which starts it off on the funky side. “Sumbody” is a party-starter with the addition of psychedelic elements, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this one became a staple in the club scene soon.
On Friday, November 5, head on over to Bar Smith to catch SHADED live to celebrate the venue’s five year anniversary. Grab your tickets here.
