YetepThe mysterious Malaa strikes again. This time it’s not an aggressive house beat or a filth-filled track, instead, he offered something a little different. “We Get Crunk,” the third single off forthcoming Illegal Mixtape Vol. 2 (coming this fall) is a techy and subdued song that exercises quality over quantity.
We’re used to seeing Malaa layering in the percussion and samples to create some of the most delectable house morsels we’ve ever enjoyed, but at the end of the day, nothing is sweeter than a surprise. “Get Crunk” was a surprise. It’s minimalistic presence is the perfect segway from those tracks of his that give us heart palpations, both from dancing and excitement. You know Malaa but not like this, check it out below.
We still may not know who Malaa really is, but we know that he’s been busy in the studi, cooking up fire beats to add to his flame-throwing live set. It’s been one whole year since we’ve had the masked man in our midst but the wait ends December 7th. Bringing his 2018 Illegal Tour to The Pressroom, Malaa is set to headline the night. Grab your ski masks and tickets here.
