DJ To Watch: Bishu

Hailing from Halifax, Canada, 23-year-old Bishu first made waves in the electronic music world collaborating with artists such as Tomsize, Luca Lush, and Quix, as well as labels such as Unborn, Elysian, and Mad Decent. He made his performance debuts in 2016 at Mad Decent Block Party, Lights All Night, and Wobbleland, along with supporting Peking Duk and Jackal throughout North America.

2018 saw Bishu minted on preeminent dance music label and fellow Canada resident Monstercat, with whom he released a string of successful singles, each garnering millions of streams. Riding on the coattails of today’s hottest rap singles, Bishu graced his future bass touch on Lil Pump’s “I Love It,” Future and Juice Wrld’s 2018 banger, “Fine China.” Both coming up on 100k plays, this DJ To Watch is being heard by many.

He spent the second half of the year producing and A+Ring his debut EP, “The Hali 2 Cali EP”, set to come out on Monstercat in Q1 2019. The EP represents an artistic culmination for Bishu, displaying his mastery of a broad range of dance genres and ability to collaborate with successful vocalists including Mister Blonde and fellow Canadian Anjulie.

He will be touring in the US supporting Luca Lush behind the release. Watch for Bishu coming to Arizona alongside our blue headed friend Luca Lush on February 28 at the Green Room in Flagstaff and then again on March 1 at Aura in Tempe. Grab your tickets in the venue links!
