YetepOver the past couple of years, NYC-based multi-instrumentalist and producer, Gryffin aka Dan Griffith, has cemented his path to the international spotlight with his melody-rich style of house music that fuses indie with dance in a tasteful fashion. Known for some of the biggest remixes from the past couples years, such as his remix of Tove Lo’s “Talking Body,” Maroon 5’s “Animals,” Years & Years’ “Desire,” and more, this gifted up-and-comer has already seen a significant amount of success, hitting #1 on Hype Machine consistently, on top of racking up 100 million streams online.
Seemingly unable to anything wrong in the studio, his latest project has seen him break personal streaming records and create moving melodies unlike anything else. Gryffin recently released his first full body of work with Gravity Pt. 1. This very impressive compilation of songs that hits you right in the feels and move you right to the dance floor.
Kicking off the EP, he reshares his heater, “Nobody Compares To You” featuring vocalist Katie Pearlman. Coming up on 1.3 million streams-this emotive takes you on a roller coaster of sobs and smiles. In an interview with Billboard, Dan talked on the track saying, “Nobody Compares To You” is one of my favorite tracks I’ve ever made, and I feel like it has played a major role in the evolution of the project’s sonic identity”. We concur, this track set the high bar and tone for the rest of the EP and for that, we are blessed.
Gryffin shines in live settings, with his use of guitar, piano, and drum pads and synths on stage, resulting in an organic, heartfelt sound. Don’t miss your chance to see this EP in action at this year’s Decadence AZ on New Year’s Eve. Grab your tickets here.
