YetepBrock Thornton, the man behind Boogie T has collaborated with Subtronics on more than one occasion, with tracks like “Hit Em,” released last year. The pair have teamed up once more for the funky new single and this week’s Relentless Beat of the Week, “Senpai.” Take a listen below.
Released on Boogie T’s own label, Drama Club Recordings, started just last year, “Senpai” revolves around a spoken word sample taken from the viral “Weird Satanist Guy” video. The humorous vocal sample is set atop crunchy bass tones, as Boogie T and Subtronics mesh together to effortlessly.
The two have been teasing this collaboration at shows for a while, so we’re excited to see the final product, a fun but bass-heavy track that slaps. “Senpai” was released along with two remixes from L.U.X. and HE$H x Bommer, rounding it out to a full EP.
You can catch Boogie T as part of his live band project, BOOGIE T.RIO, on Saturday February 9 at Crescent Ballroom. Click here to purchase tickets.
