YetepSome say that the sequel is never as good as the original. That theory is thrown out the window, ran over a couple of times, and left sitting on the side of the road, as the super collaboration of “First Time” has gone acoustic. The original version from Seven Lions, SLANDER, and Dabin was already a smash hit with over 4 million plays on Spotify to date. Somehow it just got even better. Dylan Matthew‘s vocals are the star this time around, with the acoustic version consisting only of his cool, soothing voice and a piano. This song shows why Matthew seems be to the go-to vocalist for SLANDER, as his talent shines in this performance. In addition, a live-recorded video accompanies the release, which you can check out below.
Seven Lions, SLANDER, & Dabin Feat. Dylan Matthew – First Time (Acoustic)
It’s obvious that these guys have struck gold with this record. Both versions are incredible pieces of work with completely different feels. I think we can all agree that after this hit, we hope to see more collaborations from these artists in the future. You can catch both Seven Lions and SLANDER at the tenth anniversary of Crush AZ on February 15th and 16th, and stream the acoustic version “First Time” on all platforms here.
