YetepUK Drum and Bass duo Delta Heavy released their debut album, Paradise Lost, three years ago. They’ve spent the years since honing their fast-paced bass driven sound that reaches a BPM of 175 at times. As a result, they’ve become big within the Drum and Bass community, and have had significant commercial success. Late last month, the duo released their second full-length album, Only In Dreams, via Ram Records. Check it out below and see what you think.
The album is made up of 11 songs, including collaborations with Zeds Dead, Modestep, Muzzy, and more. Starting with an intro that transitions into the first Drum and Bass track, “Anarchy,” Delta Heavy starts it off right with some lightning fast basslines and rap vocals from Everyone You Know. They cover their Dubstep basses with the monster of a track, “Exodus,” and then channel some Drumstep with “A.I.” Delta Heavy also takes a minute to showcase some versatility in their style with the trippy Drumstep track, “Replicant.”
When asked about the inspiration behind the title of the album, the duo said, “I think a lot of the kind of sounds and concepts that we use with our music, we like them to be slightly otherworldly and have a feel of being beyond the horizon, which I think is exactly where dreams are.”
The Brits will be heading to the U.S. this summer. Be sure to catch them on Saturday, June 29 at Shady Park in Tempe. Grab those tickets here!
