YetepThere’s plenty of classical pairings I could compare the superduo Dog Blood to. The sun and the sky, peanut butter and jelly, fish to the sea… the list could go on and on. There are not, however, many partnerships within the music world that could hold a candle to what we witness when Skrillex and Boys Noize combine their musical talents. After a long, agonizing wait, we have finally been reminded just how insane these two are together.
“Turn Off the Lights” is the first release from Dog Blood since 2013, and it is an absolute heater. The song gives off a dark, underground vibe with a drop that makes it damn near impossible to stay still. It’s in your face and crazy, and quite honestly the perfect song to bring back the Dog Blood name to. The jam was seemingly produced in Berlin, Germany, Boys Noize’s home country, as well as other music that has yet to be released, according to Skrillex’s twitter. To hold you over until we get to hear what else they cooked up, check out “Turn Off the Lights” below.
2019 is already promising to be a huge year in dance music, and it definitely doesn’t hurt that one of Germany’s most popular producers, and America’s golden child of EDM are combining forces for an epic return. The two are clearly having fun with it, gracing the stages as Dog Blood once again at some of the biggest festivals in the US such as Ultra and Buku. We can only dream about the rest of the madness the duo has yet to unleash on us, but while we wait, let’s cherish what these guys are doing in the moment, applaud them, and dare I say, give the bloody dog a damn bone.
