YetepAbout to head off on an exciting run of shows, G-REX gives us something to soak up with his latest EP release. The Detroit producer and DJ has found time to create Requiem, which was released through Liquid Stranger’s Wakaan label. Check it out now!
There is no restraint shown from the start as “Ladi” starts with a punch, harsh vocals and aligning percussion. With more of a build-up comes “Asylum,” which leads us nicely into “Voodoo,” a standout with STUCA as a collaborator. The bassline here is something pretty astonishing and will leave you knocked for six. Tying things up is the drone-filled ‘Warning.’
G-REX said, “Really excited to finally get this EP out. I feel like this body of work really shows the progression of my sound and is much more aggressive than the last.”
