YetepShermar Paul is a rapper, songwriter, and record producer who goes by the moniker Night Lovell. A rising talent with some serious opportunities ahead of him, he’s also this week’s DJ to Watch. Born in Ottawa, Canada, the 21-year-old’s success began when one of his singles went viral in 2014. The track, “Dark Light” was off his first album, Concept Vague. He’s since released two more full-length albums, including Red Teenage Melody in 2016 and Goodnight Lovell, release this past February.
Night Lovell fittingly maintains a dark and ominous persona – he’s known to make most of his music at night, a vulnerable time of day in which “people’s darkest secrets come out.” He’s also built up a somewhat elusive reputation, having released music and toured since his 2016 album release, while dodging interviews and keeping very much under the radar.
His musical style is characterized by deep vocals often combined with electronic trap-based productions, also adding to his “darkness” motif.
You can catch Night Lovell as he supports $uicideboy$ on their summer tour. They’ll be stopping at Rawhide Event Center on July 28. Click here to purchase tickets.
