Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and producer who has leveraged himself as the leading figure in the trance genre. He has taken what can sometimes be a repetitive rollercoaster of rumbles and turned it into a main stage show stopper that people flock from all over the world see. It’s his balance of dance-focused lyrics and cuts with the robust drop into an overpowering roar of trance than sets van Buuren apart from the rest. In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, he was voted number one in DJ Magazine’s annual top 100 list of the most popular DJs. This makes him the first DJ ever to receive 4 consecutive #1 titles. The hype doesn’t stop there. Since 2001 van Buuren has hosted a weekly radio show called A State of Trance that has over 30 million weekly listeners in more than 40 countries, which would make it the most listened radio show in the world.
