YetepFan-favorite GRiZ once again shows he can do it all with his latest release via AC Slater’s Night Bass. Yes, you read that right, the funky bass-driven producer has delivered a tech-house tune that is like no other. There is no denying that GRiZ’s “Could U” is still heavily influenced by his love of groovy bass, but he really dove headfirst into the house world with this one and the backstory is just as awesome as the track itself. The bass-house king himself, AC Slater, heard thumping house music coming from a nearby cabin late one night while on FriendShip and it turned out to be GRiZ! The next day GRiZ had a demo sent out to the label boss and he loved it. Give “Could U” a listen below and fall in love just like AC Slater did.
Lately, GRiZ has shown his undeniable musical diversity as he has dabbled in dubstep through his Bangers.Zip EP series and live b2b’s with Subtronics. Now, with a track out on Night Bass who knows where the funk master will take things. GRiZ explains, “Lately I’ve been letting my heart go where it goes and it landed on this techy, groovy, funky, bassy house joint called ‘Could U’.” He has been playing the track live and it has been a hit! With a summer booked full of festivals, here’s to hoping GRiZ keeps the house vibes going and continues to break genre boundaries again and again.
