YetepYou may know award-winning producer, songwriter, and DJ Maya Jane Coles from one of her many aliases, such as the slightly more bass-focused Nocturnal Sunshine or the techno-inspired CAYAM. Her tenure in the industry dates back to 2008, and she’s explored everything from house to dub to hip-hop since.
Her latest project as CAYAM is Chaos in the Distance, a dark and minimal techno EP made up of three tracks, including “Universal Wisdom,” “Chaos in the Distance,” and “Sparkl.” Check it out below.
Maya Jane Coles has had an impressive career thus far. In 2013, she released her debut album, Comfort, on her own imprint, I/AM/ME, which received many accolades and featured appearances by Tricky, Miss Kittin, Nadine Shah, Alpines, Thomas Knights and Karin Park. She released her second album, Take Flight, on I/AM/ME in 2017. The 24-track project peaked at number 37 on the overall UK albums chart during the first week, number 26 on the Independent label chart, and number 15 on the Billboard Dance and Electronic Album Sales Chart. Take Flight also landed her Best Album and Best Producer at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards 2017.
