YetepDayvid Lundie-Sherman, better known as SAYMYNAME, has been making a name for himself in the bass scene for years. He has an extensive discography, one will find colossal collaborations with the likes of Afrojack, Riot Ten, Henry Fong, and SLANDER, as well as countless solo classics. Now, he’s on the cusp of releasing his next EP, DYNASTY, with Ultra Records.
A couple of months ago Sherman shared the lead single from the DYNASTY EP and just as the name implies, the track is absolutely “INSANE.” Now, he and his team are ready to ride those waves of momentum with another hit single, “POWER,” with Softest Hard.
In the early moments of “POWER,” Softest Hard creates captivating soundscapes with vocal chops, swelling pads, twinkly synths, crisp percussion, and so much more. Everything about this section is absolutely gorgeous, but when the time is right, SAYMYNAME takes the wheel, pushes all the way down on the gas pedal, and brings out the brain-melting bass that has built his DYNASTY. The first drop is a full-force fusion of Trap, Hard Dance, Jersey, and Jungle elements. By the second drop SAYMYNAME switches to Hard Psytrance, featuring a bassline so thick and deep it can be felt in one’s spine. While both drops are unique and distinctive, they share an undeniable theme between them: absolute “POWER.”
A perfect balance of beauty and chaos, “POWER” is a bona fide banger. One can expect this instant anthem to get played at shows and festivals for many, many years to come. Don’t miss SAYMYNAME on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Sunbar in Tempe, AZ! For more information, as well as tickets, click here.
