YetepNostalgix is back with another epic collaboration! “Power” features multi-talented Manchester native Bipolar Sunshine, bass/tech house grooves, and dreamy keyboards. Bipolar Sunshine’s vocals add an addition layer of groove and rhythm to the party. The lyrics are beautiful and cover topics like loneliness, longing, and the euphoric highs of love. These themes keep up with Bipolar Sunshine’s namesake songwriting style.
“Power” begins with Bipolar Sunshine’s incredible vocals and cinematic, wintery production choices. Chilling keyboards gradually painting a snowy landscape before the rush of bass and techno-inspired drum hits up the tempo. Galloping bass builds into an intense prebuild. The first drop is an epic fist pumping ride through the stars. Combining techno kicks and House hi-hats. With brief drum breaks thrown in for good measure.
“Need someone to hold again. Don’t want to be alone again. My love. My love. Cause you give me POWER!!”
The section after the first drop is bouncy and intricate. The icon keyboard notes repeat, leading into a chill, shimmering tone, steadily building up to the next drop. Chill undertones intact. The second drop is a euphoric rush that leads into the song’s fade out.
The production on “Power” is extremely detailed and well-layered. Taking listener’s on an emotional journey. Nostalgix and Bipolar Sunshine’s eye for detail is ON POINT here. There is so much to be heard, even after repeated listens. The keyboard notes are subtle and effective. A beautiful way to lead into new track sections. Bipolar Sunshine’s vocals are powerful and expressive. Dancing along with the track’s melodic and upbeat switches with ease. Nostalgix effectively blends techno and house elements with bass to create beats for nearly any genre. This is a strong production duo and I would love to hear more collaborations from them. The combined creativity of these artists makes “Power” a strong recommendation for your next gathering.
