Artist Spotlight: Michael Sparks

If you’re not already familiar with Michael Sparks, it’s time to change that, because this up and comer is about to take over the scene. This young DJ and producer has already developed a loyal following thanks to his groovy basslines and breakbeat hip-hop styling productions.

Born in Montreal, Sparks began producing as a teenager in his grandparents’ basement. He experimented with everything from hardstyle to rap instrumentals, developing the essential well-rounded skills every good producer should have. His career started to take off in 2015 when he caught the eye of Hardwell with his “Locked & Loaded” collaboration with Domeno. Hardwell signed the track on his Revealed label, and it ultimately reached the top of the Beatport Electro House chart as well as #7 on the overall chart.

After his career started making progress, Sparks began to develop his own style, and has landed in the house realm with ultra-heavy bass lines and a high energy brand. He’s collaborated with the likes of 4B, LOUDPVCK, and Moksi and put out official remixes for Zeds Dead, Diplo, Sikdope, 3LAU, and Tchami to name a few. It’s still early on in this producer’s career but we expect great things in the years to come!
