YetepZHU is set to release his fourth studio album, Grace, to the world on January 19th, 2024. If Grace is anything like his previous albums, he’s once again poised to elevate the house genre to new heights. ZHU operates within his unique artistic boundaries, consistently pushing the limits of what defines house music by continually elevating the production quality of his tracks.
If you’ve ever witnessed ZHU’s live performance, you know it’s an unparalleled experience, and this live unique energy is seamlessly woven into his production style. It often features a darker tone, accentuated by beautiful vocals (much of which is his own voice singing), live instruments, and deceptively simple yet irresistibly catchy beats. Throughout the year, ZHU has been gradually releasing tracks from the upcoming album, and we can hardly wait for more. As of the time of writing this article, he has unveiled six tracks from the album, each leaving listeners craving more and proving that even with ZHU’s immense popularity, he continues to push artistic boundaries.
One standout track is “Take My Soul,” which boasts a breathtaking introduction with vocal harmonies serving as chords. As the lyrics and bass kick in, it sends shivers down the spine, and when the drop hits, it’s impossible not to groove along with the beat. “Blind Believer” features ZHU’s signature vocals but adds an extra layer with its mesmerizing melody and counter-melody, taking the song to the next level.
The enchanting vocals persist in both “Devil’s Prescription” and “Days Before Grace,” with each song maintaining the album’s darker thematic undertones. “Days Before Grace”, in particular, stands out with its bass note distortions, creating an ideal backdrop for the song’s captivating vocals. “Changes” begins with a beautifully executed piano segment, leading into a drop layered with synth chords driving the melody. Wrapping up the list of already-released songs is “Revelations,” a track that has already gained over 2 million plays this year, showcasing a chilled vibe that shows ZHU’s mastery, even in a seemingly simple composition.
ZHU’s ascent in the music industry has been relentless, and there are no signs of him slowing down. If you ever have the opportunity to see ZHU perform live, take it. His live show is unlike anything else, and truly showcases his artistry. Fortunately, you can catch ZHU headlining (and playing an after-party) at Goldrush: Sonoran Skies – get your tickets here!
