Remix Recall: Chris Lorenzo Classics

For this week’s Remix Recall we’re headed to the upper echelons of the house and bass scene for one of dance music’s most notable success stories. Producer, remixer, and DJ, Chris Lorenzo hails from Birmingham UK, and is widely recognized for honing a sound that has quickly become more and more popular across both the US and UK.

You probably know him for his Beatport No.1 “California Dreamin’” or hit collab “MAMI” with COBRAH. Below are four more Chris Lorenzo classics to get you ready for his return to Arizona for Super Unnatural this weekend!

“In Da Getto” – J Balvin, Skrillex (Chris Lorenzo Remix)

One of the most iconic remixes to come out of these past couple of years, Chris Lorenzo’s version of “In Da Getto,” a song by J Balvin and Skrillex, was the most played remix of 2021, according to 1001 Tracklists. Lorenzo’s remix proved to be so popular that J Balvin decided to perform it on Good Morning America rather than the original song, which was heard by over three million viewers. This remix is a definite staple of any Chris Lorenzo set.

“House Arrest” – Sofi Tukker, Gorgon City (Chris Lorenzo Remix)

Chris Lorenzo gave this “lockdown anthem” a 90’s UK garage house vibe full of danceability, energy, and liveness. The kind of track that is guaranteed to put you in a good mood. Infectious energy and irresistible grooves, per usual.

“WORD” – Walker & Royce, VNSSA (Chris Lorenzo Remix)

Tech house genius. Chris Lorenzo’s remix of Walker & Royce & VNSSA’s hit “Word” is ideal for the afterparties thanks to its distinctive vocal twist and groovy bassline. He adds his own unique spin to create some more effortless electronic magic.

“Back Seat” – Anna Lunoe, Genesis Owusu (Chris Lorenzo Remix)

A perfectly primed club-ready hit full of bounce. Chris Lorenzo takes Anna Lunoe’s acid house cut and increases the ante to create a thumping remake of “Back Seat.” His high-quality production is unmatched. Full of upbeat synths and melancholic voices over a throbbing UK bassline, his distinctive tone ranges from progressive house to tech house and has influences of UK garage, grime, and dubstep. Chris Lorenzo has become a household name in the world of electronic music and is considered a master of his trade. Lorenzo has skillfully combined these styles to produce a bass-heavy, high-energy sound that has enthralled listeners worldwide.

His live performances are a living example of his talent as a DJ, leaving every person in attendance with a memorable experience.
