Artist Spotlight: MEDUZA

What started as just “three guys from Milan” has quickly turned into something much more! Italian electronic supergroup MEDUZA started releasing hits in 2018 and have never looked back. Within the last few years, MEDUZA has become the most globally streamed Italian artists in all of Italian music history! They have crafted a winning combination of deep house and tech house with their funky basslines, captivating vocal samples, and infectious melodies. Their recognizable sound has helped them establish one of the fastest and most notable reputations in the electronic dance music industry. Their distinctive sound was quickly embraced by all and even contributed to the return of house music on the radio waves. MEDUZA is made of three members: Simone Giani, Mattia Vitale, and Luca de Gregorio. 

In 2014, the trio was only recognized as a production team after they collaborated on several tracks and created rap instrumentals together. However, they were each individually active in the music industry as producers, DJs, and electronic artists. After a period of experimentation, they decided on a house-influenced style, and in 2018, they began recording new music under the MEDUZA alias.

Their 2019 breakout singles “Piece of Your Heart” and “Lose Control,” both collaborations with the British production team Goodboys, raised the group to prominence. “Piece of Your Heart” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording and peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart upon release. The group has since received multiple diamond, platinum, and gold certifications worldwide.

Their self-titled double-sided EP, MEDUZA, was released in February 2023 and received over 3 billion streams on Spotify in less than a year. The first disc of the EP features all of the group’s explosive singles, like “Paradise,” “Piece of Your Heart,” and “Bad Memories.” The second half of the EP spotlights more of MEDUZA’s personal influences, drawing inspiration from the underground rave, techno, and trance scenes of the 90s. The EP checks all boxes with its techno-inspired basslines and mesmerizing hooks that pair perfectly with each track’s addictive sound design. MEDUZA is truly a comprehensive masterpiece of MEDUZA’s incredible journey.

MEDUZA continues to raise the bar in dance music and are quickly completing their mission of world dominance by playing sets all across the globe, from Iceland to Hï Ibiza to EDC and next month, Body Language in Phoenix, AZ!
