Whenever two of the most iconic bass artists collaborate, it almost always results in a timeless classic. The recent collaboration between Excision and Flux Pavilion, titled “On Forever,” is proving to be just that. This track not only blew my socks off but also defied what I had expecteds. Flux Pavilion, known for significant innovation in his sound, has shifted away from producing as bass-heavy music as he used to. I hope is that we continue to see collaborations between Flux Pavilion and other bass artists, as the potential for greatness seems limitless.
The song kicks off with a serene melody, and Saint Raymond swiftly joins in with his beautiful vocals. The lyrical theme revolves around missing someone special, delving into the intricate emotions associated with such sentiments. Lines like “Am I dreaming, hoping you tell me I’m wide awake, because I’ve been waiting on you forever” evoke a emotional touch, perfectly capturing the experience of seeing a missed loved one in a dream. It’s a bittersweet composition, and the drops impeccably complements the message. The first drop features a beautiful melodic bass with cascading notes, harmonizing flawlessly with the melody. The second drop introduces a solid dubstep sequence, complete with an uplifting chord progression that pierces the heart.
Collaborations between two absolute titans of the bass world are rare, so when they happen, you must savor every moment. “On Forever” is an incredible song that promises not to disappoint. Make sure to check it out!
