YetepRezz stands out as one of the most iconic DJs ever, and I’ll gladly die on that hill. Not only does she produce some of the gnarliest music around, breaking EDM stereotypes and staying true to herself, but she also does it all with the kindest and most genuine heart. Rezz is someone who has truly stuck to her signature sound, and the results speak for themselves. As one of the biggest EDM artists ever, it’s a stroke of luck that she’s coming to Arizona for a special album performance, and on 420, no less. In anticipation of her show, I wanted to highlight five of my favorite Rezz songs. I’ve tried to steer clear of the more well-known tracks, so hopefully, you’ll discover something new!
“Orbit” by Rezz
This track was initially one of the IDs Rezz made specifically for her shows, but after enough fan pressure, she released it. Rezz’s attention to detail shines through, even though her style leans more towards the slower side compared to typical headlining DJs. The drop in this song is mysterious, with ambient noise in the background enhancing the simple beat structure. It’s perfect for vibing to on the drive home after a long day at work!
“Kiss of Death” by Rezz, Deathpact
Rezz really nailed it with this song, which is a bit harder than many of her tracks. A collaboration between Rezz and Deathpact is a match made in heaven, evident in the track. The drop features notes that take you on a journey, tearing through space and time while the background accents showcase incredible production. This song deserves at least three listens, as the production in every part of it is amazing.
“Maleficent” by Rezz, EDDIE
From Rezz’s latest album, this song presents a harder form of bass music than she normally produces. With a strong buildup, it opens up into elongated bass notes that are both deep and striking. It really showcases the low end and is bound to hit hard when she performs it at the special 420 show.
“Green Gusher” by Rezz
Despite being one of her older tracks, this song still hits hard to this day. Rezz has always showcased extreme production skill, evident in this song. Even though she was relatively new in her career, this track boasts incredible arrangement and beats that seamlessly blend together. The drop has a faster tempo, creating movement that is both fun and spacey at the same time.
“Edge” by Rezz
While this may be one of her most iconic tracks, with many newer fans discovering Rezz through it, I couldn’t resist including it. This song trended on TikTok for a good reason. It’s heavy, spacey, unique, and truly encapsulates Rezz’s style. Masterfully, the repetitiveness of the song doesn’t get boring, and it’s a track that will take you to another realm.
Rezz is poised to rock our world on 420. This is one of three special album performances celebrating her new album, Can You See Me?. I can’t stress enough how incredible this show is going to be—get your tickets here!
