2024’s Hottest Electronic Releases So Far: 5 Songs You Need to Hear

Even though it’s only halfway through 2024, the world has been on fire with fantastic releases this year. It seems the pace of releases has picked up this year, and seemingly every week I have a new favorite song. There are also more artists rising in popularity, adding to the incredible world of electronic music, and they deserve to be celebrated as well. I wanted to share with you five of my favorite songs that have come out this year. I hope you find something new!

“F______ LOVE YOU” by Alleycvt

Alleycvt is undoubtedly one of the rising stars this year, and she has me in a chokehold with this song. This track is one of my favorites of all time and shows her incredible potential. The first drop is an almost cinematic future bass dubstep hybrid, with her synths tickling the sky with their sound design. The second drop is a different, almost cinematic fusion of dark melodic bass and dubstep, and it blows me away every time!

“Touhou Riddim – Subtronics Remix” by Virtual Riot, Subtronics

It is always exciting when a Subtronics song drops, and this one was long-awaited. This drop showcases Subtronics’ signature sound, with high-pitched notes serving as either melodies or countermelodies. The first drop has the high-pitched signature sound cascading up and down, creating an intricate melody overlaid over heavy dubstep, creating a masterpiece. The second drop is a trap/dubstep hybrid, and it takes this song to a completely new level.

“See You Drop” by Ray Volpe

While Ray Volpe “broke” into the scene with his hit “Laserbeam,” he continues to rise in popularity and deserves to be recognized. This song is for the headbangers, with catchy lyrics that are easy to chant and two devastating drops to destroy everybody. The first drop is more of a typical dubstep drop, but the sound design and accents are done incredibly well. The second drop is a true tear-out dubstep drop, with the saturation of the bass making it seem like an onslaught that will never stop.

“On Repeat” by Wooli, Flux Pavilion, Cammie Robinson

Just like the song title states, this song has been on repeat since it came out. Cammie Robinson has an amazing voice, and the vocals on this track are breathtaking. The first drop is dubstep, but it has this incredible chord progression that sits on top of the bass notes and reminds me of old-school Flux Pavilion. The second drop is a dark melodic bass drop, and it blasts you with emotion.

“Rainbow Funk” by AHEE, Probcause

Last but not least is an artist who I think has all the potential in the world, AHEE. This song is truly incredible and has not two but three different drops. The second and third drops are my favorites and truly scramble your brain. Both have elongated, pulsating notes attacking your brain, and they promise to turn your world upside down.

These songs represent just a small slice of the incredible music released this year. I hope you enjoy these tracks as much as I do and find something new to add to your playlist!
