Wubtastic superstar ALLEYCVT continues to evolve her sound and make massive moves in the EDM scene. She is consistently booked on the festival circuit and has toured internationally in Mexico, Canada, and Europe. As well as just announcing a massive US Tour. Alley’s newest drop, “In The Alley” is a certified anthem that embodies her personality and artistic evolution. This track was consistently teased in live sets. Making the crowd go BONKERS every time. I was unsure if this was a live exclusive or a planned release, but am overjoyed that the official drop is here. Listen below to hear how ALLEYCVT’s sound has progressed.
“In The Alley” begins with cerebral chanting and a sweeping, wubby introduction. The drum effects take off, as Alley sings “If you bout that trippy shit. Meet me in the alley, bitch!” The first drop occurs at around the 27-second mark. ALLEYCVT is not messing around here. Getting things going right out of the gate with no hesitation. This drop contains dizzying crescendoes, low-ended wubs, and digitalized vocal harmonies that match the beat. The bass effortlessly bounces off of crunchy and bright undertones, as a steady drum beat thumps along. ALLEYCVT is great at mixing various vibes, genres, and eras into a single track. A “y’all you ready for this” vocal sample and “hey” chant can be heard throughout, the latter carrying on into the bridge. A techno-inspired drum beat comes into frame, working with soaring elements to lead us into the next drop. The second drop briefly switches things up (as evident by the accompanying vocal sample) becoming much more wonky, contrasting with the heavy bass of the first drop. Alley then commands the track to “bring that shit back”, as the massive bass makes its grand return. The drop switches to the wubby stuff once again, as the drum beat slows down a bit. Laser effects surround the listener as the drop continues.
“I’ve been too nice, too long. Yep.. It’s definitely time I get nasty,” declares a vocal sample over techno-esque drums and intergalactic notes. The third drop harkens back to old-school EDM and briefly introduces a House-inspired hi-hat to the mix. The wubs and bass continue to duke it out, like two massive dragons in combat. “In The Alley” concludes with the vocal chant from the introduction, thick bass, and trailing hi-hats.
ALLEYCVT continues to push the boundaries of EDM, as well as her own style and sound. “In The Alley” is a top track that cements the legacy, personality, and capabilities of an incredible artist. Proving once again that my favorite DJ is here to stay. Catch a live ALLEYCVT set as soon as you can for an unforgettable experience. The Feel It Tour begins September 28th in San Diego and continues throughout the year. Do not miss out!
