Louis the Child recently announced their A Day In the Sun Tour, bringing along top-level artists such as Jai Wolf and Whethan for a daytime party. They are playing at some of the country’s most popular venues, including Red Rocks in Colorado and Rawhide for us Arizonians. Even though daytime shows are typically reserved for EDM pool parties, this is a trend that I hope sticks. Louis the Child themselves said it perfectly in their Instagram announcement post: “some things are just better in the day.”
Who doesn’t like the idea of daytime concerts? A fun day in the sun seeing your favorite artists, and being in bed at your normal time, minimizing the disruption a late-night concert usually causes the next day? Daytime shows are elite in that regard, and I hope what Louis the Child is doing with this tour inspires other major artists to consider the same. As EDM fans get older, it gets harder to stay up late, and even harder to recover the next day, the latter of which gets more important the older we get! In addition, partying in the daylight gives a certain layer of comfort for most, as your eyes can see your surroundings very easily. In addition, (proper) exposure to the sun is good for your soul, and the combination of the sun plus good music is a rare combo that never fails to deliver.
Louis the Child has always been innovators with their sound, and I am excited to see them push the boundaries even more. Louis the Child always delivers at their live shows, so expect an incredible mix of their own music and daytime bangers. Their daytime show at Rawhide on October 27, 2024 is not to be missed.
