The Relentless Pursuit Episode 9: A Look Into Kaskade’s EDM Journey

Legend and world-renowned EDM artist Kaskade is featured in the newest episode of Relentless Beats’ very own video-series, the Relentless Pursuit. In this newest video, Kaskade opens up about his origins, beginnings, and motivations behind his musical career, shedding light on the influential factors that in large part created the DJ powerhouse we know and love today. Growing up in Chicago, the then aspiring artist was fascinated by the performance aspect and community of the shows he attended in his younger years. He began diving into his initial sound, which he explains as sample heavy with drum machines and early synthesizers. Upon moving to San Francisco, he was introduced to a lyrical / song-creation focused atmosphere, and took those inspirations to create what he wanted his sound to be.

His goal was to find the balance, combining the sonic world of electronic music with songwriting and producing. He dives into his personal connection to songs throughout his life that he was able to resonate with and remember even years later, allowing the music to withstand the confines of time by being tied to emotions and memories. He wanted to create this experience and longevity in his own music, and create songs that people could relate to and hold onto over time.

Kaskade’s passion and excitement for music continues to propel his career and keep things interesting and diverse, and the artist is ecstatic about what is to come.
