YetepZingara and the electric duo known as Elephant Heart have combined forces to bring us an ethereal track backed by an intricate soundscape in “Welcome Home.” “Welcome Home” is the closing track on Zingara’s debut album, The Code of Dreams, and ties the album together in a neat package.
The track begins with mystical chants, bubbling drums, cerebral claps, and mountains of bass. Sitar plucks add a psychedelic element to the track, as the bass spirals in and out of auditory frame. Male and female vocal chants help the other elements effortlessly bounce off one another. Creating a canvas for endless sound design possibilities. Rising synth and bass crescendos add a menacing tone to the bright-sounding track. This mixture of bright and menacing sounds is where Zingara and Elephant Heart truly thrive and excel.
There is a curious sound element here that took me a minute to put my finger on. After further research, I have concluded that this is likely a subtle didgeridoo effect. Wow! This track mixes influences from numerous EDM genres, as well as Indian and Australian culture. These artists really know how to mesh these influences seamlessly into a dynamic release. “Welcome Home” Keeps shuffling at a steady pace as the elements do their thing. Majestic laser effects come in after the second drop as the bass drops get deeper and heavier. The production on this track is a solid A+ and accurately represents the talents of the collaborating artists. Check out below for an epic listening session. Zingara is currently touring to promote the new album, including a stop at RB’s own Coconino Campout Festival in late September. Tickets are still available–grab them now!
