YetepStutter House is the up-and-coming genre that relies on vocals or melodic notes repeating in quick succession, creating the “stuttering” effect. While this genre has been around for a while (nothing is really “new”), most credit Fred again…. for its wild rise in popularity. While many artists across various genres have created a stutter house song or drop, I wanted to highlight three artists whose primary sound is stutter house, as this genre is here to stay. I hope you discover a new artist in this blog, and if you see them pop up on lineups, know it will be a great time!
BUNT. is probably the biggest stutter house artist aside from Fred again…, yet he is still growing in popularity. Almost quitting music a year and a half ago, BUNT’s story is heartwarming, and it shows in both his discography and performances. You can tell he is full of appreciation, and his songs convey a lot of positive emotion and energy that is perfect for dancing. BUNT’s discography is more energetic than most stutter house artists and is a perfect combination of beautiful music and excitement for the dance floor. Luckily for us, he is performing at Sunbar on August 2nd. Get your tickets here!
Natan Keller is a true musician, and someone I highly expect to make a come-up shortly. His music is truly beautiful, and you can tell every note is intentional. His music leans more on the chill side, utilizing production techniques to create a more ambient feel, perfect for relaxing. His music is emotional, creating peaks and valleys that can get your heart feeling emotions you didn’t expect to otherwise. Even though his music is chiller, it would definitely hit on a live stage, so if you see him on a lineup, get a ticket!
Lavern lands right in the middle of BUNT. and Natan Keller; while chiller than BUNT.’s music, it has the bass kicks that make it more suited for the dance floor than Natan Keller’s discography. It’s perfect for any house lover. Lavern does an incredible job leaning into the “stutter” definition of stutter house, creating wonderful cascading melodies that take you on a journey. Like most stutter house artists, Lavern excels with the vocals over his tracks and is one of the rising stars to definitely look out for!
