Dubstep bass and riddim fans have all been enjoying the time leading up to the holiday season and the new year thanks to all of the amazing album announcements we have had in the past month or two.
The kings are back. It has been almost four years since Zeds Dead released a full-length album, Catching Z’s, which was a completely unique and new tempo for the bass masters. More melodic than heavy dubstep, this was a fresh new sound for Zeds Dead. After clearing their social media channels and posting a cryptic message, they have announced their newest album and tour which is set to be released in early 2025. Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness is set to be one of the albums of the year. Be sure to stay tuned into their social media channels to stay on top of all news about the upcoming release and tour.
Ganja White Night have been busy in the studio with some of their friends in preparation of the release of their new album, Sprouted. This is going to bring back some great memories for old school Ganja White Night fans, as they have announced that the newest album will be much like Hybrid Distillery. This was one of the groundbreaking albums from Ganja White Night which was released back in 2015. A decade later, the duo has come out and stated that Sprouted is going to be a Hybrid Dystelery 2.0 where they will explore a much wider range of dubstep and will include some of their wonkiest tunes yet.
Deep Dark and Dangerous has been one of the biggest labels to bring UK garage and UK Dub to the United States and across the world. Originally from New Zealand, Deep Dark and Dangerous founders Truth have created a musical movement and culture that continues to expand and reach new heights. Deep Dark and Dangerous, the record label which releases some of the best deep dubstep, reaches its 10 year anniversary this year. To celebrate, DDD will be dropping two collaboration albums including some of the best and brightest names from their label. Releasing their first official Deep Dark and Dangerous tunes back in 2014, this milestone marks a huge achievement for the dubstep label and is going to include some insane new releases from their whole crew of talented artists.
The final album release to be on the lookout for comes from UK record label and dubstep curators Duploc. Duploc, similar to Deep Dark and Dangerous, is another underground dubstep label which releases some of the heaviest tunes in the genre. With a wide collection of some of the best names in the genre, Duploc truly embraces and expands the 140 bpm sound. Originally started as a YouTube playlist and area for the founders of 140 music to get together and share music and ideas, Duploc has expanded to so much more. Releasing their 140th release on the label is a huge achievement. This will be celebrated with the release of a collaboration album. Similar to the Duploc Dub Wars or the 140 Warriors series, this newest album is going to be a collaboration of deep dub masters and newcomers. Releasing early 2025, be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for more news and other great albums to come.
