One of the things I love most about GRiZ is his relentless creativity. He’s a true producer at heart, tirelessly working to create new pieces of art for us to enjoy. With his incredible grasp of multiple genres, GRiZ’s discography has immense range. Between 2019 and 2022, he released seven EPs under the Bangers series, and the world hasn’t been the same since. These EPs are packed with genre-spanning tracks that showcase GRiZ’s versatility and brilliance. This blog kicks off a short series reviewing the Bangers EPs—hope you enjoy!
Bangers[3].Zip – Released in 2019
The third installment of the Bangers series continued the funky, spacey vibe, while leaning more into dance music. The EP opens with “I Like That,” a funky, upbeat track that instantly grabs your attention. The drop features warped space bass elements, creating an immersive sound that wraps around the listener. Next, “Supadupakulavibe” showcases GRiZ’s unparalleled mastery of sound production. This fast-paced house track is packed with interesting elements that keep you hooked from start to finish. Closing out the EP is “Now Til Infinity,” a nostalgic funk classic that throws it back to the old-school GRiZ vibes we all know and love.
Bangers[4].Zip – Released in 2019
GRiZ keeps the funk alive with Bangers[4].Zip, kicking off with “Gonna Get Funky.” This track is a quintessential funk-EDM banger, guaranteed to get everyone dancing. Then comes a pivot back to GRiZ’s bass roots with “Let’s Get Weird,” a true showstopper.
