As the 2025 festival season arrives, the fashion girlies are eagerly anticipating the trends that will take off in the scene this year. 2025’s style is doubling down on nostalgic revivals with modern twists, and the devil is in the details when it comes to keeping your individuality while staying on trend! Here’s a breakdown to some of the emerging festival fashion trends for 2025:
1. Mastering the Mix & Match
Although you can never go wrong with a matching set, they’ve been recycled for years – these last few seasons, the art of mixing and matching is getting its recognition. Combining contrasting patterns, textures, and styles feels like minimal “cool girl” effort, but it shows maximum creativity.
Think opposites attract: moto boots for a boho dress, soccer jerseys with ruffled skirts, cyberpunk vibes paired with super feminine bows, racing jackets over lace, t shirts with leather micro shorts, etc. It’s all about crafting an eclectic look that’s uniquely yours, which leads me to the next prediction…
2. 365 Party Girl Aesthetic is the new Indie Sleaze
The 2000s “indie sleaze” aesthetic that resurged in 2024 is holding strong in festival fashion. For those that aren’t familiar, think Charli XCX! She gives off an effortless vibe of the perfect grunge and glam mix – basically boycotting the clean girl aesthetic. Bold animal print, metallic fabrics, sheer tops, and of course, a carefree attitude define this trend.
Thrifting is key! Try mixing a fur bikini with denim, or have a pop of black lace under a zebra print top to incorporate this into your next festival fit. And to no surprise, low rise everything still – you can thank Diesel for that!
3. Fairycore Fantasy
Rave girls are still embracing all things fairy vibes! Brands like Diosa by Seco, Freedom Rave Wear, Badinka, and others have really nailed the flowy fabrics, pastel shades, and nature inspired accessories that gives off the ethereal look.
Try a DIY! Since raw edges and draping fabric give that flowy vibe, don’t be afraid to take some scissors to a thrift find. Adding rope, dangly charms, or butterfly clips can really take it to the next level when layering. And hair braids and body chains will really tie this together!
4. Boho Is So Back
We’ve really come full circle in festival fashion from the 70s, to the 2000s Coachella core, to now – I’m sorry to bohemian chic that we left high and try for too long because she’s finally back (and not in the suede fringe booties kind of way). We’ve seen boho creep in already: crochet and lace were trending, ruffle bloomer shorts were everywhere, thick chunky belts were being retrieved from parent’s closets.
Like I mentioned before, the key to not feeling outdated with boho is mixing silhouettes: the juxtaposition of a sheer, cream colored duster cardigan with a rugged moto boot feels like 2025 festival. Find crochet pieces that have big, iridescent sequins woven throughout, or get a frilly lace pashmina!
5. Accessorize, Layer, Then Accessorize More
This takes time to collect, but get creative! Layers and layers of necklaces, rings, scarves over hats, dangling charms: accessorizing with one (or all) of these things will elevate any festival outfit. It’s also my tried and true secret to pull a rave outfit together without having to buy a whole new wardrobe. If you have staple clothing basics in your closet already, you can just shop for small pieces to test out trends.
Chunky belts, hair bows, mixed metal bracelet bangles, patterned or textured pashminas, a crochet backpack, lace boot socks, fishnet bolero, waist chains, are all things you could add to a plain black outfit and instantly stylize it into something fresh. Don’t be afraid to layer and experiment to find your signature style.
As always, the best festival or rave fit is one that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Festivals are for having FUN!
