Dubstep Dive: Mad Dubz is Having a Mad Year

On this installment of the dubstep dive, we are diving into one of my personal favorite riddim artists: Mad Dubz. Mad Dubz, also known as Tom Clifton who hails from the United Kingdom, is one of the most talented and exciting up and coming artists in the riddim and trench industry. I have had the opportunity to see him live a few times over the years and there are few which can bring the same energy to a show. Mad Dubz has an infectious energy which makes you need to dance, whether that means diving head first into a mosh pit or hitting the high knees with your buddies. He is one artist that you are going to want to pay attention to this year as he has a plethora of US dates lined up over the rest of 2025.

Mad Dubz is first and foremost a riddim producer, but that is far from all he is capable of. Mad Dubz is able to blend dubstep, riddim, trench, tear out, and a handful of other genres together into a neatly woven set that is unique every time he plays. When I say that Mad Dubz has energy, I am not exaggerating. Riddim fans will understand when I say that he makes you want to run through a wall. The choppiness and brutal drops make the most pit bounce with energy that is seldom seen, even in the heaviest of lineups.

Mad Dubz has stood out to me for many years, not only for his own projects but also for some of the collaborations that he has cooked up in the studio. From collaborating with riddim artists across the scene to his unique duo project with Automhate, Mad Dubz is everywhere and I would expect to see him even more in the coming years. He has linked up with Automhate, another up and coming riddim artist, to create a duo project “The Poppe Brothers.” From opening up for Svdden Death to joining Wooli in the Valley this August, The Poppe Brothers are taking the US by storm. For all the riddim fans out there, I highly recommend checking out Mad Dubz and keeping him on your radar, as some of the most insane and wicked tunes will be coming from this artist for years to come.
