YetepMulti instrumentalist Ghost In Real Life or GIRL is best know for her hybrid blend of punk, metal, and various genres of EDM. She specializes in drum & bass infused tracks, but works within the wider spectrum of EDM. GIRL is very involved in her creative process. Producing her beats in addition to taking up guitar and vocal duties. Her dedication and unique influences have created a unique sound that stands out among her contemporaries.
“Out of Control” is her newest outing. A guitar-driven bop with a pop-punk tempo and electronic music breaks. The song begins with echoing vocals glistening hints of EDM. Guitars and heavily tuned drums break down the doors, while the lyrics capture (and embrace) attention and paranoia. She feels that “their eyes are watching my every move. Their thoughts are following me ’round too. I should just make a scene.” These beginning lines attest to the fears about being in the public eye and only expand further as the song goes on. Despite these fears, GIRL welcomes this attention with open arms. Creating elaborate displays to keep the people watching. “If you want to watch me, I’ll strike a pose. Confirm all the rumors that everyone knows. My mistakes are live-streaming.” This powerful passage shows off GIRL’s confidence and lack of care for what people think of her. Getting way ahead of the crowd by openly admitting to her “bad reputation.” The track begins a guitar heavy build to the first drop. A melodic dubstep wonderland with fuzzy DnB bass and layers of punching drums. Perfectly meshing melody and intensity. A melodic interluded takes us through the stars, guided by kick drums and sweeping guitar. Drum hits bring us around to the second drop and the next chorus. The DnB waves do not let up as the track gradually fades out with the catchy guitar hook.
“Out of Control” is a strong release in every way possible. It flows well, has tight instrumentals, and is lyrically charged. GIRL has a great attitude about rising in the ranks of EDM. Embracing her ascent with confidence and swagger, while still remaining grateful for her fans and opportunities. Check out this dynamic artist and release TODAY!
