After over two decades of shaping the global dance floor, Chris Lake has officially dropped Chemistry—his long-awaited debut album—released independently today via his own Black Book Records. And he’s not stopping there. The house music icon just announced a 13-date North American tour this fall, bringing the album to life in full force.
More than just a tracklist, Chemistry is a bold, deeply personal body of work. It’s a project that celebrates club culture, creative collaboration, and the kind of dance music that lingers long after the lights go out. Featuring 15 tracks and standout collabs with Bonobo, Amber Mark, Vera Blue, Alexis Roberts, and more, the album is a sonic journey through Lake’s evolution. From peak-hour festival weapons to emotional slow-burners, Chemistry flexes every side of his artistry.
“I’ve been at this for over 20 years, so it’s about time we added an album to the discography,” Lake jokes. “But honestly, Chemistry is something I’ve wanted to make for a long time. I wanted it to feel cohesive, but also let every track live in its own world. Doing it independently—on my own label—was the only way to really let that vision breathe.”
Built entirely on collaboration, Chemistry is rooted in connection. Whether it’s the emotional depth of “Falling” with Bonobo (written by HAYLA), the long-awaited return of Alexis Roberts, or a heartfelt feature from Lake’s wife Aatig, every track feels intentional, intimate, and alive. This is Lake at his most expressive, channeling over two decades of experience into a record that’s both technically precise and emotionally resonant.
Chris Lake doesn’t just rise to the occasion, he completely redefines it. Chemistry is a rare blend of precision and soul: cohesive but expansive, polished yet deeply human. It’s not just one of the best albums of the year—it’s a benchmark for what dance music can be.
“I hope Chemistry draws more people into the deeper side of dance music,” Lake shares. “There’s a vulnerability in putting this out there, but that’s where the real connection happens. I’d love to see more full-length albums coming out of this space, and I want to help that grow.”
From a historic Thursday night takeover at Coachella to packed-out shows in Sydney, Brooklyn, and beyond, Chris Lake has spent the past year building the world of Chemistry—and now, with the album officially out and a full tour ahead, he’s inviting all of us into it. Lake is hitting the road this fall for the Chemistry Album Tour—an immersive, 13-city run that will hit top-tier venues like a massive Rawhide takeover with us in Phoenix (AZ), Echostage (DC), Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (SF), and more. Fans can expect extended sets, custom visuals, exclusive edits, and a deep dive into the creative layers of the record. In partnership with PLUS1, $1 from every ticket sold will go to Oceanic Global, a nonprofit dedicated to ocean preservation and environmental restoration.
Chris Lake will close out the tour with two nights unforgettable nights in the Southwest. From the pulsing dancefloor of Revel in Albuquerque on December 11th to the open-air energy of Rawhide in Chandler on December 13th, both shows promise peak Chris Lake—unfiltered, high-impact, and guaranteed to sell out.
