YetepMorgan Page’s evergreen track, “The Longest Road” is proof that legends never die and anthems never fade. Morgan Page and Will Sparks recently released a new version of the progressive house song titled, “The Longest Road Ahead.” It’s the perfect time to revisit this classic with a fresh spin as Morgan Page takes over Sunbar Tempe on August 8th. Get your tickets here!
Shaping EDM with its catchy lyrics, pulsating synth, and western roots, Morgan Page and Lissie released “The Longest Road” 17 years ago. In an Instagram post about the creation of the song, Morgan Page says:
“The Longest Road began as a concept about the desert…We pieced together fragments of ideas and eventually came upon the key phrase “The Longest Road,” painting a landscape with phrases like “pastel trailer park, stars so bright to hide the dark.” It’s a song about a relationship that doesn’t work out, but the desert provides the metaphor.”
-Morgan Page
Since its release, the track has been remixed and reimagined by artists spanning EDM genres. DeadMau5’s remix of “The Longest Road” took off like wildfire, helping to solidify the track as a certified house classic. Since then, artists like Vicetone, Steff de Campo, and Manuel Riva have put their own spin on the track, resulting in enough to make up an entire album—The Longest Road, released in 2018.
Will Sparks and Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road Ahead” pumps up the emotion of the song with energetic rises and catchy vocal chops that pay homage to the original while creating an entirely new experience. The song starts with a play on the original track’s intro stating, “We’ll go so far as we please.” Fitting lyrics for a song that continues to withstand the test of time, going as far as it pleases via different reworks and remixes. It continues on with a sped-up version of the OG lyrics paired with driving kicks and a trance-meets-mainstage melodic backbone that keeps the energy going.
GRAMMY-nominated Morgan Page is one of those artists who you just can’t miss on stage. With over a decade of creating and performing under his belt, Morgan Page delivers polished, uplifting live sets—and his show at Sunbar Tempe will be no exception. Get your tickets now and get ready to dance the night away on August 8!
