YetepMartin Joseph Léonard Bresso, the 6’3” Parisian Pastor better known as Tchami — is constantly reminding us that he is indeed more than just a DJ or producer. For over a decade, he’s proven himself as an innovator and true prophet of dance music. Widely regarded as the Father of Future House, Tchami is now staking a larger claim as the Father of House itself and we’re all here for it.
Since debuting with “Promesses” on Fool’s Gold Records in 2013, Tchami has dominated charts and dance floors globally. In 2015, he founded his own label, Confession, and just like a Church choir it has helped launch countless new voices in house music. I had the privilege of interviewing him before his performance at Decadence Arizona 2024, where we discussed everything from AI in electronic music, to mental health. Tchami spoke to me with clarity about his 2025 mission – leaving negative energy and relationships behind, focusing on family, and prioritizing “less noise” and true focus. For someone who’s already accomplished so much, his motivation for self-growth is nothing short of inspiring.
That sharpened focus is already paying off. Following his sold-out debut at Ibiza’s world-renowned [UNVRS], Tchami just celebrated 10 Years of Confession at Wanderlust in Paris, playing unforgettable B2B sets with Malaa, BL3SS, San Holo, Maesic, ASDEK, and Gentlemen’s Club.
I believe If Tchami wrote a Bible, one commandment might be “Thou shalt uplift thy friends” and his latest collaboration, “Waiting,” alongside NIIKO X SWAE, is a true summer bestie anthem. From college dorm rooms to crushing dance floors (and the occasional sandwich shop), NIIKO X SWAE are proof that chasing your dreams is even sweeter when you do it with your best friend. The duo were last spotted in Arizona at Darkstar for a high-energy Valentine’s Day show and if you missed them, don’t let it happen again (trust me). Their sets are packed with personality, deep grooves, and crowd connection. You can catch more of their sound on their new remix of 50 Cent’s “Disco Inferno,” available now HERE.
Tchami’s latest collaboration, “Waiting,” alongside NIIKO X SWAE, is a true summer bestie anthem. The track opens with warm bass plucks and filtered garage-style breaks, setting the tone with soulful vocals that softly repeat, “I’ll be waiting for you.” There’s a comfort in the simplicity and it feels like a musical embrace. The first tech house drop wastes no time, unleashing crisp hi-hats, punchy claps, and intricate percussion. Just as you’re settling into the groove, G-funk-inspired synths (reminiscent of classic West Coast hip-hop) add a rich, nostalgic touch that deepens the rhythm. A mid-track breakdown refreshes the palette with dreamy Synthwave elements before returning to the infectious chorus.
The lyric: “If you’re sad and blue, don’t be afraid, I’ll be here waiting for you” is the emotional core of the song. It’s the kind of message you’d dedicate to your closest friends under festival lights. The second drop returns with even more drive, this time stripping back the synths to highlight the track’s rhythmic power and tonal beauty. If you’re going to dedicate a song to your ride-or-die crew, let it be this one. ‘Waiting’ is not just a vibe, or song – it’s a celebration of friendship, support, and shared experience.
I can tell 2025 is shaping up to be the year of collaboration and friendship, and “Waiting” is a glowing example of how the right pairing can produce absolute timeless magic. Our prayers have been answered, Tchami and NIIKO X SWAE have delivered one of the hottest tracks of the summer.
Next time they’re in town, I’m bringing my bestie–and so should you.
