YetepHerShe is a triple threat artist (producer, rapper, beatboxer) who has made an absolute SPLASH in the EDM scene, releasing several solo singles, as well as some BONKERS collaborations with artists like TVBOO/Smoakland, Seth David, and Runnit. Her unique skillset creates equally unique releases and live performances, leaving a lasting impact on the scene. Her personal brand is confident, self-assured, and empathetic. HerShe’s latest release, “Hit Maker” continues these themes, while also exhibiting how beatboxing influences her production style.
“Hit Maker” begins with a growling bassline and electronic bubbles that provide the perfect contrast. Reverberating vocals bounce off of multiple layers of drum effects. From claps and taps, to full-bodied kicks that lead into the first drop. A wobblefest that is pure fun, with subtle shifts in tone throughout. The varying drum beat is very reminiscent of beatboxing, complete with chattering vocal bars. Clashing swords chop up the drop and add variety to the soundscape. “Hit Maker” then returns us to the introduction, now joined by the added layers of drums. The track builds and explodes with an aggressive drum pattern. Bringing in the next drop with a VENGEANCE!
This second drop is drastically different than the first. Adding in some hi hats and chime notes. Coating the track in a fine layer of stardust. The wobbles are also more aggressive this time around, rolling along faster and louder than before. Drum effects then take center stage as the wobbles ebb and flow like a California tide. “Hit Maker” concludes with a melodic fade out.
“I made ‘Hit Maker’ because I wanted to pay homage to my previous days as a competitive beatboxer to create a clean, epic transition from beatboxing back into production and DJing… ‘What have you heard about me? I’m the bad, I’m the bad b**ch you wanna be, HerShe hittem with the hittem with the—’ and then ‘Hit Maker’ hits. The crowd eats it up every time.“
