YetepThe underground is rising, and at its forefront are 10 boundary-pushing women DJs who are turning stages into launchpads. This essential spotlight dives into the artists redefining EDM culture across the globe. Let me introduce you to the artists I believe are reshaping dance floors with bold production, genre-bending sets, and uncompromising vision. These aren’t just DJs; they’re producers, icons, and sonic visionaries crafting the future of sound. These women are more than next — they’re now. Get ahead of the curve and take notes.
1. 2DY4
Genre: Dubstep
2DY4 is a rising powerhouse already earning support from ATLiens, Jeanie, and Jessica Audiffred. She’s making serious noise in the underground scene, pulling over 500 fans to her first headline show. She was able to do this without a manager or agent, just the community. Her track, “FEMME FATALE,” with HEXXA has become an underground anthem, solidifying her as one of the fastest-growing names in bass. Check out her remix of Jeanie’s “DEMISE” below.

2. HEXXA
Genre: Dubstep / Riddim
HEXXA, the undisputed queen of “dragstep,” is redefining heavy bass with unapologetic queer expression and theatrical live performances. As the first drag artist to play North Coast Festival, she’s breaking boundaries and paving the way for LGBTQIA+ representation in EDM. With brutal basslines, fierce stage presence, and a mission behind the madness, HEXXA is quickly leveling up. Check her out LIVE 11/14 at Sunbar when she joins Vastive on his ‘New Levels New devils‘ tour, grab tickets here. Listen to “FEMME FATALE” with 2DY4 below.

3. Skittlez
Genre: Dubstep / Riddim / Drum & Bass
Rainbow braids, massive energy, and an unmistakable stage presence—Skittlez is a triple-threat DJ, producer, and vocalist. Her viral Club Studio Time set earned an early track stop from icon SHIVERS out of sheer respect, and that’s basically a Gold Medal in the underground. With support from Riot Ten, Codd Dubz, and Dr. Ozi, and standout tracks like her DnB vocal cut “La Luna,” Skittlez is carving out her own technicolor lane. Don’t miss her riddim-heavy heater “Ghostface” below.

4. Peachy Keen
Genre: House / Drum & Bass

Winner of the Arizona Goldrush DJ Competition in 2021, Peachy Keen is a force to be reckoned with. Known (to me) as the “Pink Pool Party Princess,” she brings dancer energy to every set, she’s no stranger to bringing the party to the biggest stages. We’ve talked before on her goals and production was at the top of that list, it’s definitely paying off as she’s currently a student at Cosmic Academy. Peachy Keen is gearing up for consistent releases that will showcase her groovy, radiant style. Chat, that’s a “W.” Her debut EP Everything Dances lives up to its name—listen below.

5. K33KZ
Genre: Dubstep / Future Bass
K33KZ is making waves with sharp sound design and explosive edits that have already earned a spot in DJ Diesel’s Shaq Pack Vol. 2 and support from ATLiens, Bear Grillz, and Akeos. In under two years, she’s carved out a reputation for chaos-driven bass, and her breakout set at Lost Lands 2024’s Silent Disco proved she’s only getting louder. Don’t sleep—check out her debut track, “Bring It,” below.

6. THRASHA
Genre: Dubstep
Denver’s bass underground wouldn’t be the same without THRASHA – I witnessed it first hand. Supported by NGHTMRE, Barely Alive, IVORY, and Kompany, her heavy-hitting sets are chaotic, technical, and unapologetically raw. Her debut No Limits EP lives up to its title with relentless intensity, earning her a spot on Dubstep FBI’s “Most Wanted” list. Get ready to thrash—listen to No Limits below.

7. Lunnari
Genre: Color Bass / Dubstep / Trap
Hailing from Boca del Río, Mexico, Lunnari blends the futuristic influences of SOPHIE, Skrillex, and Marshmello into colorful bass worlds. With releases on Joytime Collective and MONTA, plus support from SVDDEN DEATH and Subtronics, she’s quickly climbing the ranks. Marshmello has teased their collab for over a year, and the hype continues to grow. While we wait for that release, Listen to her latest release “Easy To Leave” below.

8. Bella Renee
Genre: Drum & Bass / Future Bass / Dubstep

Songwriter-turned-DJ Bella Renee is no stranger to the spotlight—her work with Seven Lions, YDG, and REAPER has already amassed over 60 million streams. Now stepping fully into the DJ booth, she delivers euphoric sets that blend soaring vocals with drum & bass, future bass, and dubstep. Catch her at Lost Lands this year, and listen to her collab “My Home” with Chassi below.

9. JAMPAGNE
Genre: Jersey Club / House / Trap
JAMPAGNE is club culture royalty. With a sound that’s bold, bouncy, and all gas/no brakes, she’s earned support from €URO TRA$H (Yellow Claw), Flosstradamus, 4B, and Marshmello. Rooted in Jersey Club but thriving across Trap and House, JAMPAGNE is about to take things even higher as she joins Flosstradamus on their 20-year anniversary tour at Substance Las Vegas this October. Listen to her latest heater “I Wanna Rock” below.

10. Shmani
Genre: Emo Dubstep / Trap
Shmani is a sonic storyteller with unapologetic energy and wizard-like sound design. Blending raw emotion and swagger, she’s been hailed as a fusion of Alison Wonderland and Kreayshawn—with elf ears and plenty of bass to back it up. Some even call her the “female Skrillex,” and her relentless creativity and intricate sound design proves why. Check out her emotional yet heavy collab, “Puppy,” with So Sus below.

Honorable Mention: REMY
Genre: Dubstep / Techno
REMY is building a reputation around what she calls “feminine rage dubstep.” A DJ-turned-producer with a flair for comedy and catharsis, she’s already gained attention for her gritty remixes and teased original tracks on the way. She recently lit up the stage at Escapade Music Festival, delivering sets that feel more like an exorcism than a performance—in the best way possible. Listen to REMY’s hard-hitting remix of “I’m A Believer” below (yes, the Shrek song—and yes, it slaps).

Honorable Mention: SYMBREON
Genre: Riddim / Trench / Dubstep
A newly evolved force in the Arizona underground, SYMBREON is making waves at record speed. In less than a year, her DJ talents have secured her three major festival performances, and has played support and shared stages with heavyweights like Calcium, Yvm3, Sara Benyo, and Luci. Beyond the decks, she’s begun producing her own punishing originals, unleashing heavy-hitting bass that rattles sound systems and rallies a cult-like following in the process. With momentum building and fans multiplying, SYMBREON is quickly becoming one of the desert’s most dangerous rising stars.
