YetepThere’s something magnetic about a band that can bottle up the golden haze of the desert and turn it into sound, and that’s exactly what Tucson’s own Daytrails does. Their music feels like the sun melting into the horizon, blending the breezy warmth of surf rock with the introspective pulse of indie pop. It’s a sound that recalls the carefree glow of COIN, the dreamy nostalgia of Dayglow, and the guitar-charged edge of The Strokes, all filtered through the spirit of Arizona’s open sky.
Formed in 2021, Daytrails has become one of Tucson’s brightest homegrown acts, capturing the attention of fans across the state with their shimmering melodies and infectious energy. What started as a college friendship between David Cantillo and James Linskey has evolved into a full-fledged creative force, now joined by Dylan Stanton on bass and JoJo Lanser on lead guitar. Together, they’ve carved out a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh, intimate and expansive, like an indie movie soundtrack unfolding in real time.
Their performances are equal parts euphoric and grounding, the kind that remind you why live music matters. Picture this: you and your friends standing shoulder to shoulder as the evening desert air starts to cool. The first chords of a Daytrails song shimmer through the speakers, and suddenly, everything feels lighter. The guitars glint like fading sunlight, the rhythm pulls you closer to the stage, and before you know it, you’re singing along, caught somewhere between memory and possibility. It’s the kind of set that makes time stretch out, where every chorus feels like a snapshot you’ll want to keep forever.

When Daytrails hits the DUSK Music Festival stage on Saturday, November 15th, expect more than just another indie rock performance. Expect to feel the heartbeat of Tucson itself, radiant, youthful, and endlessly alive. Don’t miss your chance to catch them under the city lights. Snag your tickets here.
